Tamron Hall Set to Go Head to Head with Megyn Kelly
Tamron Hall the former morning show co-anchor is returning to television with her own talk show, and this time, to revival her replacement.
Tamron Hall, left the Today Show in February after NBC cut her third hour to onboard Megyn Kelly, a former FOX News anchor. Hall has now teamed up with Weinstein Television, a division of The Weinstein Company, to launch the untitled talk show in the same time slot. Tamron’s new talk show which will be shot in front of a live studio audience, will focus on a mix of current events, human interest stories and in-depth celebrity interviews.
According to a source, Hall “was ready to get out of the game after ‘Today.’ She felt like she’d accomplished a lot and was fully prepared to move back to her hometown in Texas and then Harvey Weinstein called and when Harvey calls, you take the call. It felt like the right time.”
On Twitter, Hall addressed the news, noting that she’s feels “#grateful”, thanking fans for their support.
“I’ve been working towards developing a talk show for a long time, but needed to make sure I did it the right way and with the right person to take the lead. Tamron is far and away that person. She’s an exceptionally talented journalist whose interviews masterfully walk the line between entertainment and hard-hitting. We couldn’t be more thrilled to begin this new venture with her,” said Weinstein Company Co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein in a statement.
It seems it is the revenge of the former NBC employees. Hall, will co-create the show serving as host and executive producer of the series, as Barry Wallach - former NBC president of domestic television distribution, will consult on the show. Tamron Hall will also work with The Weinstein Company to develop additional non-scripted programming.
