Latinista Fashion Week SS18 NYFW Presentation
As a finale to NYFW and a launch to Hispanic Heritage month Latinista Fashion Week's Spring Summer 2018 gave a superb showing. Both local and international fashionista's flocked to take in one of a kind collections from amazing Latino/Latina designers. Celebrating fashion, beauty, art, music, food and the culture with a mix of rich afro-caribbean roots, according to founder Dee Rivera, Latinista Lifestyles was conceived to facilitate “the beauty of inclusivity and opportunity.”
The Spring'18 Collection presentation featured flirty a-line sequin silhouettes and metallic dresses made for the everyday woman who wants to look her best, from the veteran Cesar Galindo. The beautiful, geometrical cuts and bold colors from Project Runway’s Layanna Aguilar, spoke to the state of the world. Pajama-esq wearable art made of afghans and silk chiffon prints came from Chris Barret. And last but certainly not least, a combination of flattering floral contemporary dresses perfect for the modern woman was Cenia Paredes rallying call.
Adorned by Neil Diamond Jewelry, the models’ beauty looks were created by HERImports with makeup by Vera Moore Cosmetics. Beauty trends were reflective of sixties-modern from glossy eyelids to pastel colors and black eyeliners, yet not necessarily together al at once. Celebrity hair stylist, Tippi Shorter, gave us some crown like french braids, but for the most part the individuality of textures and colors seems to be the trend for NYFW.
Latinista also partnered with Inca Kola USA and Friends of Lead Free Children, who are leading a humanitarian mission of bringing medical professionals and health-related supplements to pregnant women and young children in the poor areas of the Dominican Republic.
