News & Current Events: March 19, 2016

So much has happened since I last did a "News & Current Events" roundup. But the problem is the post would be too long trying to report it all. So I will just give you a round-up of the major developments.  

The World

Paris Terror suspect Salah Abdeslam [one of the most wanted man in the world] who had been on the run since November, was captured earlier to in Molenbeek, Belgium. He was one of 3 men taken into custody, and believed to have carried out the November attacks.

On Monday Russian President Vladimir Putin announced they would be pulling their Military from Syria. And on Tuesday Russian forces began withdrawing , saying they have achieved their goals in the country.

 

Entertainment

The is a hit Broadway musical “Hamilton” with a hip-hop twist has been married into a Mashup with “Space Jam“ a story of Michael Jordan getting sucked through a golf hole to save the Looney Tunes from aliens. The new name, “Space Jamilton.”

The Nation

On Wednesday President Obama finally nominated Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court, immediately prompting Republican Congress to respond in retaliation. Garland a judicial moderate who currently serves as the chief judge of the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, previously received a unanimous approval from Congress.

Congressional hearings on the Flint, Michigan water crisis also began on Wednesday. Gov. Rick Snyder admitted failure and apologized, but received striking scolding from Congressman Matt Cartwright, “I’ve had about enough of your false contrition and your phony apologies ... Pretty soon we will have men who strike their wives saying, ‘I’m sorry dear, but there were failures on all levels.”

 

The Race for The White House

Super, Super Tuesday was more like separation Tuesday, as the Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have sent strong messages to their opponents. The Republican party is now in disarray trying to figure out how to stop Donald Trump.

Former First Lady Laura Bush when asked by a reporter in an interview if she would support Donald Trump… “I’m not going to answer,” Laura said in an interview with USA Today. “Don’t ask that.”
