NYFW Designer Spotlight - Prabal Gurung Fall 2016
Known for mastering the craft of mixing materials, Prabal Gurung brought it with his Fall 2016 collection! In a tribute to his home country [Nepal], Gurung’s point of reference came from Henri Rousseau’s “Woman Walking In an Exotic Forest” and Lord Byron’s “She Walks in Beauty”. Prabal’s pieces floated down the runway in powdered hue to bold saturated colors serving up nothing but subtle sex appeal. Models were dressed in silhouettes which featured undone sexy slits and button trimmings on both the dresses and the trousers. Gurung mixed skin baring chiffon separates with over-sized jackets, lush fabrics and tall leather boots. Prabal Gurung fall 2016 showcased his signature asymmetrical and bias cut pieces, which looked sensational!
