Tips to organize display your jewelry

Play with Texture

We love this tri-leveled tower for organizing and displaying rings and broaches. Uncooked rice makes jewelry easy to maneuver for an artistic display, without the mess of decorative sand or challenge of clunky stones. Uncooked rice may also slow the darkening/oxidation process by reducing the amount of humidity and oxygen to which your jewelry is exposed.

Combine Collections

I have a beautiful set of tea cups that my mother gave me. Living in a cozy apartment though, I  don’t really have the space for the type of cabinet needed to display them, nor do I regularly host lovely tea parties so that I can utilize them. Sadly, they have been sitting in storage in the very high cabinets in my kitchen—the ones you can never really access—for years. I love the idea of mixing collections to save space and create a unique display of cherished possessions. In this case, tea cups can easily hold your dangly earrings, and the inside of the cups create the perfect storage space for rings. Spread your necklaces and bracelets around cups on saucers to prevent them from getting tangled. Set your display out on a beautiful silver tray or an antique scarf to add an extra style element.

Repurpose Unexpected Household Items

Get creative and give a run-of-the-mill household items a new life. This cheese grater is the perfect spot to store and display a lot of earrings. Grab a can of spray paint to match your decor or add a fun burst of color. Standard hooks and beads make great “legs” to lift the cheese grater off of a flat surface and truly upgrade it from a regular kitchen accessory.

Put a New Spin on a Gallery Wall

A gallery wall is a great way to add a level of sophistication to your space without having to go through the effort of painting your walls or spending a ton of money on expensive artwork. For a budget-friendly, but still stylish gallery wall, look for discount or thrift store frames. You can mix and match frames to find various sizes and shapes, and use spray paint to give them a consistent look that makes the whole display look pulled together. Install simple hooks on the frames to easily hang jewelry, or adhere chicken wire to the backside of the frame to truly maximize the amount of jewelry you can display in each frame—you can even make cool geometric designs! To ensure your gallery wall looks polished, plot out your design using painter’s tape and a level.
