NYFW - Spring/Summer 2016 is two weeks away, and the collections are expected to reflect an evolved event. The shows which will run from September 10 through 17, is entering a new era. Mercedes-Benz is no longer title sponsor and the Lincoln Center is also no longer the host location. This season's event entitled “NYFW The Shows” will be hosted at the Skylight at Moynihan Station, Skylight Clarkson Square, and the MADE shows at MILK Studios. With Mercedes Benz out the lead partners will now be Lexus, Maybelline New York, TRESemmé, Intel, DHL, and E! Entertainment. The MADE shows will be presented by Accenture, American Express, Intel, Lexus, Macy’s, and Maybelline New York; with the CFDA sponsors including Amazon Fashion, among others.

NYFW The shows will not only feature new venues and sponsors, but also new logos, new activations, and new streamlined policies and procedures. Speaking of new policies and procedures, they’re some new press credential requirements. So as part of their evolution, IMG is only issuing credentials to major media outlets. Otherwise if you’re a freelancer or individual agency, you’ll need to be on official assignment with supporting documentation. Other members of the press without credentials, will need direct invites through the designers’ PR teams.

Keep in mind, that previous year’s accreditation or coverage will not necessarily grant you access to this season’s show. With the new changes in mind, IMG is offering numerous tools to allow press to cover NYFW The Shows remotely, including photos, videos and a live-streaming. Visit the NYFW website late August when they'll debut an interactive show week schedule. You can also view a schedule for other independently produced show HERE.
