Google is getting ready to unleash another algorithm update. The question is, will you be one of the many who will wake up on April 21 to realize your website is loosing rank and traffic - like the Panda did to many websites?
Like all other updates, Google will be rewarding websites for their positive mobile experience, or penalizing websites that do not play well with mobile. This time Google's new algorithm update will be punishing websites that are not mobile-friendly, as per their February 26, 2015 statement:
Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.
According to Google, the upcoming change will significantly affect mobile search in all languages worldwide. Google currently identify in mobile search the sites that are mobile-friendly, but all that is about to change drastically.
