3 Books to Supercharge Your Life
As I was cleaning up my home office, I came across the April issue of Ebony Magazine, featuring the Bishop T.D. Jakes. TD Jakes is one of my favorite pastors, and in my book one of the best life coach on how to supercharge your life. I am an avid follower and fan of Jakes' messages, books, and more. Maybe it's his uncanny way of packaging his religion and entrepreneurial spirit to build a brand cemented by an unwavering will to succeed. Or his ability to teach religion in a kindergarten type of way for all to understand and apply in our everyday lives.
T.D Jakes and other celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Justin Timberlake and Beyonce are no different from us, all they did was discover what was inside of them and made a transformation not a conformation.
"Success is accomplished when you know your purpose and accomplish things you were put on this earth to do." - T.D. Jakes
T.D. Jakes reminds us that success is an innate human quality, but the difference is that successful people had a plan. That, success is not universal but individual, so you must first decide what success looks like for you; then set specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely goals to achieve it.
"Decide what success looks and feels like for you. There is no universal definition that you must subscribe to. Success is scalable. One man's (or woman's) ceiling may be another man's floor. Put your dream in perspective. Have a picture in mind to motivate you when you hit the inevitable speed bumps." - T.D. Jakes
To assist you on your success journey, here are 3 books to supercharge your life, unleash your inborn drive, and bring you closer to start living the life you were meant to.
Written by Bishop T.D. Jakes, this book is the newest addition to my personal library. The book digs deep into core philosophies to help you align your actions with your instincts - which is your inner wisdom of who you are and what you are meant to do. As he so clearly state in the book, "your instincts know truths that can enhance your performance and increase your productivity."
Written by Dan Schawbel, this New York Times best-seller is the perfect navigation tool for today's young people just starting out or veterans looking to up their career game. With the job market as competitive as it is, effective personal branding has become the difference between success and failure.
Compiled by Erica Gordon, the book serves a reminder that women can have it all. It pulls back the curtain on the lives of women around the world to inspire and empower moms who seek to follow their dreams without feeling guilty.
