Who would have thought, a competition that started for women of the white race, last night came down to  two Asian-American finalists - Miss California and Miss New York.  This lead to Nina Davuluri, Miss New York, making history by becoming the first Indian-American crowned the most beautiful Ambassador of America.
Thumbs up to Nina who rose to the top by going against the grain; during the talent round she performed Bollywood dance routine, and when asked during the question and answer round about Julie Chen's plastic surgery to make her eyes less Asian - she answered,
"I don't agree with plastic surgery.  I've always viewed Miss America as the girl next door, and the girl next door is evolving as diversity in America evolves..."
Davuluri shows off her Indian dancing skills in the talent competition.
Nina Davuluri's win made it a back to back win for Miss New York, keeping the Miss America tiara stays in the Empire State for at least another year.
